Best Practice Network (BPN) NPQs

We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Best Practice Network (the home of Outstanding Leaders Partnership) to deliver the following National Professional Qualification Programmes across the HISP regions: 

  • NPQ Leading Behaviour and Culture (NPQLBC) 

  • NPQ Leading Teaching (NPQLT) 

  • NPQ Leading Teacher Development (NPQLTD) 

  • NPQ Senior Leadership (NPQSL) 

  • NPQ Headship (NPQH) 

  • NPQ Executive Leadership (NPQEL)    

Outstanding Leaders Partnership have been a school-led NPQ provider since 2012 and have supported over 20,000 NPQ participants over the last 3 years.  

As part of the government’s long-term education recovery plan, it was announced in May 2022 that DfE (Department for Education) funded NPQ training scholarships for teachers and leaders employed in state-funded schools, as well as those employed in state-funded organisations in England that offer education to 16–19-year-olds, have been extended for the next two years. This means that from Autumn 2022 participants from organisations eligible to access scholarships, will be supported to undertake NPQs in 22/23 and 23/24.

National Professional Qualification for Leading Behaviour and Culture (NPQLBC): 

for teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading behaviour and/or supporting pupil wellbeing in their school.

National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching (NPQLT): 

for teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading teaching in a subject, year group, key stage or phase.

National Professional Qualification for Leading Teacher Development (NPQLTD):  

for teachers who have, or are aspiring to have, responsibilities for leading the development of other teachers in their school. They may have responsibilities for the development of all teachers across a school or specifically trainees or teachers who are early in their career.

National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL): 

for school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, an executive headteacher or have a school trust CEO role with responsibility for leading several schools. This NPQ is delivered centrally by Education Development Trust.

for school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, a headteacher or head of school with responsibility for leading a school

Each NPQ is underpinned by a content framework that sets out what participants should know and be able to do after completing an NPQ.
