Teacher Training Scholarships
The Institute of Physics (IOP) is awarding 175 scholarships worth £31,000 to individuals who are committed to inspiring future generations of physicists. Scholarships are for those starting teacher training in England in September 2025.
The additional benefits of the scholarship programme are professional development opportunities, including access to Continued Professional Development (CPD) workshops and events, support from a network of fellow IOP scholars and physics teachers across the UK, subject-specific mentoring as well as free IOP membership for their teacher training year.

A Mathematics Teacher Training Scholarship opens up a world of continuing professional development, networking and knowledge-sharing opportunities for maths scholars. This includes complimentary membership of key mathematical societies, providing access to a wealth of information regarding the latest developments in mathematics and maths education to help inspire and support teachers in their role.
Continuing professional development events provide opportunities for maths scholars to hear from inspirational speakers, take away resources and talk to experienced maths teachers, developing personal networks which will last a lifetime and give them confidence to progress in their career.
Scholarships are also available in physics, chemistry, computing and languages and applications are open across all subjects.
