The 2026 report from Education Development Trust (EDT) brings together evidence from recruitment, retention, summative assessment, participant satisfaction, feedback and quality assurance activity. It describes HISP TSH's delivery as secure and identifies the Hub's impact on professional confidence, leadership readiness, motivation and school-level practice. 

Strong outcomes for participants 

Summative assessment was a clear strength. Specialist NPQ pass rates ranged from 95.7% to 100%, with 100% achieved in the October 2023 and February 2025 assessment windows. Leadership NPQ pass rates also ranged from 95.7% to 100%, including 100% in September 2023 and April 2024. 

Participant satisfaction remained consistently high at between 92.8% and 100%, reaching 100% in the February 2023 cohort. Response rates were above the delivery partner average in every cohort, demonstrating strong engagement with programme feedback. Retention ranged from 75.5% to 87.0%, with the strongest result in the final February 2024 cohort. 

Impact beyond the qualification 

Participant feedback shows the human impact behind the figures. Teachers and leaders described renewed professional motivation, greater confidence, relevant and practical learning, effective networking and increased readiness to take the next steps in their careers. 

One NPQH participant reflected that the programme had "reinvigorated my interest in education" and linked their successful appointment as a deputy headteacher to the quality of the training they received. Other participants highlighted increased confidence to lead new initiatives and apply learning directly within their schools and settings. 

Quality recognised through assurance 

EDT's quality assurance activity praised HISP TSH for effective and contextually relevant facilitation, strong participant engagement, clear communication and a well-balanced course structure. The Hub's facilitator observation and feedback processes were described as robust and reflective, while sampled delivery materials demonstrated strong fidelity to the EDT curriculum and thoughtful contextualisation. 

The report also notes effective use of digital tools to support collaboration and resource sharing, alongside a clear commitment to continuous improvement.

The evidence demonstrates a programme that has supported teachers and leaders to strengthen their professional capability and apply their learning in ways that can benefit their schools, settings and pupils.
